Yeah even if it had been the worst game ever it would have just been a good bit of fun, I was kind of expecting it to be a football game or golf or Tetris really so it was a pleasant surprise 😀

Never played it. I was looking forward to it in the Disney Afternoon Collection but when they ignored the Switch I refused to buy it. I'd like to have a crack at the others in it too.

Congrats on the DuckTales mystery too!

blades of steel for the NES cart only £2

Darkwing duck for the NES cart only £18...... Wow I spent a bit here but I have wanted it for 20 years, I saw it in an indy store for this price and kind of figured with St Canards Darkwings home being mentioned in the new Ducktales a new Darkwing show is possible and that could drive the price up to levels I wouldn't go and so grabbed it.

£29.95 on eBay.

I probably could've got it a little cheaper if I held on for a while longer, but it was Buy it Now and I'm sick of getting outbid on it and the condition is quite nice and yeah, I'm happy enough with that.

I already own a loose copy of the game, but I've wanted to own a boxed version of it for a good while now as well. It's my favourite game and it'll go nicely with my boxed Majora's Mask. (:

I think thats a great pickup at that price in that condition Lor64, congratulations. Now you can either sell your cart copy to make a bit back or keep it so you dont need to keep opening the box and fussying with this one.

I just grabbed Hyper Street Fighter 2 for the PS2 complete for £1... it has the awesome street fighter 2 animated film on it as well and im sat wondering if it would play that if stuck in a normal dvd I doubt it.

Thanks. (:

I think I'm going to hold onto my cart for that reason you mentioned and also, it's the cart I've had from I was a kid and I can't bring myself to part with it. It even still has a save file on there that a friend and I created when we were young.

Yeah I know what you mean I like to keep original stuff of mine at times as well. I still have my childhood Megadrive, I know its my original as I cut the cartridge part larger in order to play Japanese games without using a convertor. I dont use it much as I now have other megadrives I would rather use like my Japanese model and one I converted to run at 60hz and to believe its an American machine but I keep my original out of sentimental value.

I got a boxed 3rd party Logic 3 Sega Saturn pad for £3 from a charity shop.

I'd love to be able to contribute to this thread, I really would, as it seems that Kerr is the only one keeping this going but I can't remember the last time I bought a retro game. I'm not even aware of any shops that sell them near me. Car boots aren't really a thing in my area (at least that I know of) and that's a shame. I'd like to expand my retro collection.

I have however, recently downloaded a load of NES games for a PC emulator but I don't think that counts for this thread.

It might not count for this thread but you could certainly post something in the retro section about it.

I love retro games but I fully admit most people with common sence wouldnt spend anything near what I spend , but the games and my blog are a big part of my life and If I am tottally honest its all part of a self made stratergy to keep my mental health in check... Ever since I had PTSD I have had to focus a lot more on staying in a happy place and this stuff helps me like pretty much almost nothing else has... the only thing that was as helpful was working for an anti bullying charity and a childrens mental health charity.

I really dont want the retro section to just be me as well retro is something worth sharing , I love hearing about other peoples experiances not just what they have purchased but what means something to them. I feel that retro gaming litterally saved my life, I did a post about this and I would again but knowing how this place can get someone would proberbly laugh and tell me to go kill myself. The last thing I ever want is someone to think that the stuff there posting or what they want to talk about is less valuable than anyone else. If anyone ever wants to pick my brain about good games to buy or emulate I will always reply to messages as soon as I can.

i to would like to contribute to this thread more than I am, but far to many new games coming out so its making me not buy as much retro goodness as I would like. maybe soon though, I have my eye on a little something.
