Platinum-ed Dishonored Death of the Outsider this morning, whilst I was uploading my review of it, it wasn't that hard to plat tbh, I may got back to Dishonored 2 and plat that.
Also just started Area 4 of Samus returns and there's only 1 metroid to get, that seems suspiciously easy to me.

I have been playing PES 2018 for a week but since Tuesday I have had Fifa 18 so I have been playing that

Re: Currently playing
Taking a break from Metroid Samus Returns to try out FIFA 18. I have opted for the Switch version, for better or for worse, but so far I liked what I've seen. My only real complaint is that the customisation options don't let you change the squad numbers of players who are in the wrong team (even FIFA 13 on Wii U let you do this) but the online squad update fixed that issue and added all the deadline day transfers in so the squads are now bang up to date and a lot of work I did on FIFA 13 to try and bring it all up to date is now no longer necessary as I opted to finally take the plunge and make an EA account. So really, that's the only real negative so far.
It looks really good, it's like watching the BT Sport app except you can actually control the action.
EDIT: The first match I played was a bit of a thriller. Teams chosen because the actual match was on this evening.

I was QPR in the first half and Fulham in the second half.

I'm really into Samus Returns myself (just acquired the high-jump boots) and am set to backtrack into areas 1 and 2 with the wave beam and varia suit.
Also found pretty early on that some areas could be accessed aside from conventional means - consecutive bomb jumps for instance. Great game so far although the bosses aren't all that tbh.

Re: Currently playing
I'd be very surprised if you could, EA probably like the idea of getting more money out of people by making them buy stuff twice.
I'll definitely be getting it at some point, last FIFA game was 2013 on my Wii U so this'll be a good improvement regardless in my opinion, looks good though from what I've watched.Ape wrote: ↑Fri Sep 29, 2017 9:41 pmTaking a break from Metroid Samus Returns to try out FIFA 18. Downloaded and started playing Life is Strange: Before The Storm today, which is probably for the best as the host migration bug returned to F1 2017 online today, much to my disgust.

Re: Currently playing
Did the Canadian Grand Prix on F1 2017 earlier, qualified 5th and finished 4th. Engine wear still a constant issue, now 7 races in and I'm just about to put my 3rd power unit and 3rd gearbox in. Starting to feel the initial component wear is set really too high, in actaul F1 relativly few teams (unless you're McLaren Honda that is) have had grid penalties from new power units and most gearbox penalties come from crash damage, not just general wear and tear.
I'm probably nitpicking quite a lot with the above complaint (but it's still a cracking racing game that'd be easy to reccomend to any racing fan) and understand that the durability aspect allows for another development tree but it shouldn't be 3 or 4 deep for each component, one general one of 20% extra and then an extra 30% for each component would have been fine if the initial wear rate was lower. I really doubt you'll get through a season without getting penalties until you have to updates to each component.
I'm also still playing through Pokémon Gold, teams all on level 36 now, just finishing the Team Rocket section in Goldenrod before heading for the last gym, in Johto at least. Really should finish off the last world on Mario and Rabbids as well before Mario Odyssey comes out at the end of this month.

Re: Currently playing
Got Marvel vs Capcom Infinite and it's surprisingly good, yeah some of the characters look awful and they roster could've been bigger but there's a decent amount of content for single players which is great. Fighting itself is awesome and fast paced, the new power stones are cool new additions and I love how ott each match can be.
Shame the game kinda flopped (in the UK and Japan at least) cause it's a much better package than SFV.

Re: Currently playing
Played more FIFA 18. Did a friendly with Real Madrid but despite a strength advantage I struggled to break down my opponents for a vast majority of the match (experimented with a 4-1-2-1-2 formation). Then this happened:

Typical...
Also can confirm that FIFA 18 on the Switch is one of the best things to happen to local multiplayer in a while, a game with mass appeal and one of the few remaining local multiplayer games that you can now take anywhere and play with anyone. Though my opponent didn't like how cramped the Joycon controllers were, so it seems like a game where investing in some proper controllers or an extra pair of Joycons would be a good idea.

Which is precisely why I'm waiting for the entire lot to be released before I buy it, (and is also what I did for the first lot too).
Also just finished up Metroid Samus Returns late last night and bar a few cheap deaths, some of which was m own doing with being rusty at these kind of games now, I enjoyed it a lot. Its making me want to fire up Super Metroid again.

Finally loaded Mario and Rabbids back up, trying out Rabbid Mario as I've read he's meant to be decent. So far do good, just about to start 4-3.

Marvel vs Capcom story mode is actually kinda decent in a Saturday morning cartoon type of way.

Didn't realise 4-3 was another one of those defeat 9 enemies which are flooded with the slab smashing Rabbids, probably the only levels that have annoyed me so far. Hopefully its the last level of this kind.

Re: Currently playing
Star Wars Battlefront 2's Multiplayer Beta for me for pretty much the entirety of the rest of this week, I would think.
I'm completely loving Galactic Assault even if I am a bit terrible at it. Learning curve and all that.
I'm not touching starfighters at all though. The best control scheme to use doesn't seem to be working, and that's pretty naff when I could be trying out Starfighter Assault as well.

Re: Currently playing
FIFA 18 on Switch. Started career mode and already built a pretty strong team for League Two. Currently sitting 2nd in the league.
Signed a free agent called Daniel Bode and he turned out to be really good.

That said, I'm playing on Semi Pro and simming half the games. I plan to up the difficulty later down the line or if I ever get more competent at the game.

Feels good to have the grapple beam now in Samus Returns, especially with the amount of mental notes I'd made in previous areas - one of which I believe contains my potential fourth energy tank.
Not been playing every day but still enjoying the cycle of locating new powers and knowing where they can be applied.

Completed Mario and Rabbids this evening, which means I'm currently grinding my team on Pokémon Gold till they are all in the mid 40's, hopefully won't take too long.
I'll probably finally start playing Zelda again tomorrow, been a while since I last played it so I'm looking forward to it. I've also bought Stardew Valley on the Switch, I bought it on PC in the Steam summer sale and played a bit of it, hoping to get into it more in the Switch as I very rarely use my PC for gaming (not that it's built for gaming mind).

I got Stardew Valley as well. A charming little game that I'm sure I'll be returning to for ages. And unless there's another way, I don't like the fact you can only save by going to bed.

Re: Currently playing
Yeah that's the only way to save, which is kind of annoying. Another one of my minor complaints is that an in game day goes by far too quickly, looking it up a full day only lasts 13.5 minutes which for me doesn't give long enough to get all your tasks done.
Anyway I loaded up F1 2017 this morning after qualifying in Suzaka, did a last to X challenge in Bottas's Mercedes, finished 1st by about 10 seconds. One stop strategy is the way to go in this years game. I also grinded a little in Gold, Meganium and Miltank are both 45, just Noctowl and Amphros to go now. Just realised I haven't been to catch Ho-Oh yet either so I'll need to do that before the league.

Re: Currently playing
Went back to Metroid Samus Returns (can always pick FIFA Career mode up again sometime). Found a really expansive area which is seemingly a bit open ended in the order you can get some powerups in unless I'm misrembering but picked up the Plasma Beam and the Gravity Suit, almost got all of Samus' upgrades now and what all those doors do is starting to become clearer now.

11 Metroids left but they seem to be becoming a bit rarer now in comparison to the powerups. I wonder if you can find every remaining powerup in Area 5 as given how the original Metroid 2's mpa is structured I'm clearly in the latter half of the game now.
