Re: The COMPLETELY REGULAR AND NEW Latest Purchases Thread!
more gooseberry fool trading cards - £too gooseberry fool much
even ended up buying 2 copies of a theme deck because the two singles I need on their own are worth roughly as much as the decks which contain them along with 58 other cards, which is useful if I ever decide to run greninja break (not likely lol greninja sucks)
I need to stop this, its getting silly

£15.85 - Base
There, I'm not buying any more games now until I've cleared my backlog, and/or The Last of Us Part 2 releases.

Double dipped on Stardew Valley for the Switch, £10.99. The few hours I played on the PC version were quite enjoyable once you got the hang of it, hopefully I'll play plenty more on the Switch.

You can sell invites in PTCG?
Or is it an event you don't need to qualify for?

Re: The COMPLETELY REGULAR AND NEW Latest Purchases Thread!
Pokemon has entry fees now (lmao)
It's 45 quid which is deterring me from going to it for vgc tbh, would rather they had their old naff prize support and no entry fee than the mess it is now

you only need an invite for worlds, anything else is open invitation (with registration fees where applicable - typically around £6 for League Challenges, £12 for cups, £40 for regionals as it stands)

Re: The COMPLETELY REGULAR AND NEW Latest Purchases Thread!
I'd argue it's significantly cheaper to enter TCG since you 'only' need a 3DS and a copy of the game, whereas my deck is probably about £200 all in (even if you buy singles) when you count sleeves and eton mess. And with a new set every three months that's an ongoing cost, whereas there's only a new game every couple of years.

Re: The COMPLETELY REGULAR AND NEW Latest Purchases Thread!
Hollow argument that's a given.
It's more just still a bit daft that TPC charge higher entry fees to VGC and skew all the prize support so heavily in favour of the TCG.
One of the nice things about playing VGC was its lack of real cost but ever since they started doing this it's just not worth it when you could just play a properly engaging game instead and still end up less out of pocket.

Re: The COMPLETELY REGULAR AND NEW Latest Purchases Thread!
I guess part of the appeal is that there's a buzz about the event itself and seeing it as this great big celebration of Pokemon, Nintendo, and all the rest of it.
Alas, yeah, I think the video game is a hard sell at the best of times...
