Re: The ONM Archives
This is great work. And seems like its done a ton of work last Friday as I was about to archive some Mafia games when I noticed they had already been done.Genericenemy wrote:Its getting everything it can, it lets nothing go (Well OK, it lets irrelevant stuff go (Stuff like some external links which I deem to be eton mess or will stay up for 1000 years at a time like the BBC website)) but all the main content on the website including hotlinked pictures will be grabbed. Anyway I have some more content I wish to share, the Pokemon IRC fallout thread. I remember this one, and I haven't even played that much Pokemon in my life.Ape wrote:Is this archive bot archiving the entire website or just specific threads posted here?

Re: The ONM Archives
Should only get more complete as time goes on, seems that once its gathered around 10gb of stuff it uploads it to the Wayback Machine to appear on it usually within a few days. So even though the job isn't technically done yet you should still be seeing stuff appearing already.Ape wrote:This is great work. Quick update, the archiving job is done. Be aware though, I haven't check through each page and if you do find a broken page from it please rearchive it before its too late. Test your bookmarks in the Wayback Machine now.

Just tested it a little, looks like it's out pretty worked well. Kudos to you for doing this.
Thank you.

Re: The ONM Archives
Well it wasn't my machine doing it, I just watched over it setting it to ignore irrelevant material if it got stuck on it. Its just an online crawler that does it on my behalf, I literally just put in a request via IRC and it done the job for me.Garf wrote:As in, every page on ONM is archived? Re: The ONM Archives
I came here to ask .. does anyone remember the rather funny thread where we all created Bollywood movies on a simple film creator ? .. I laughed a whole load at some of them.

Wishing my SONM friends a very happy & successful Q3 in gaming

Load of pages got added recently it seems, was waiting for them to be uploaded to the Wayback machine. Yet to come across a dead page but I'm not holding my breath.

There have been several Bollywood movie creation threads over the years, but this one was the most recent...Bix wrote:I came here to ask .. does anyone remember the rather funny thread where we all created Bollywood movies on a simple film creator ? .. I laughed a whole load at some of them.

Re: The ONM Archives *COMPLETE!*
It is interesting what you can find just from browsing the archives of old threads, found a surprisingly interesting one about the state of the High Street in 2008 http://web.archive.org/web/201411041430 ... 19&t=37195
I'm surprised that people from ONM even shopped at GAME and the High Street in 2008, would of thought it went all online that year. They did predict the end of JJB Sports pretty damn well but it wasn't for a few years yet and the downfall of GAME (But again, it did nearly die a few years later).
