Initially I was quite disappointed with this album as it wasn't where I expected her music to go after The Fame Monster. The album lacks subtlety, which is its greatest strength but also becomes one of its most prominent weaknesses. To me this album is like a massive pop compendium that has some of the catchiest tracks Gaga has ever produced, but the lyrics stop it from reaching true greatness.
